Biography

My name is K.C. Wahe and I’m by God’s grace a husband, father, pastor, and a follower of Jesus. I came to Christ when I was a seventh grade student growing up and attending the First Presbyterian Church of Hollywood. I happened to attend a youth camp at Forest Home where I had heard the good news of the gospel that God loved me and had a plan for my life (Jeremiah 29:11). I was challenged to consider what it would mean to follow Jesus and to serve his church (Matthew 28). Both my father and youngest brother died of alcohol and drug related issues in the late 90’s and my mother also died in a car accident in the late 90’s. I have one brother who currently lives in Orange County. Because of my background I feel that I can offer some hope to those who might not have much hope. I’m a testimony to God’s love and grace, which leads my family, and I to this place in my ministry today.

I’ve been happily married to Debra Wahe for the last 16 years and by God’s grace we’ve been blessed with three wonderful children. (Kyle 12, Collin 10, and Tyler 5). Debbie currently is a public school teacher in Sacramento and hopes to continue serving in public education once we relocate to Southern California. I praise God for Debbie, because with her support and encouragement over the years, Debbie is in many ways the reason I’m able to be your pastor today.

Because of my life in the church and the influence of many friends, mentors, and pastors in my life, I’ve had the opportunity to serve in several church youth ministry programs. I’ve served in churches in Hollywood, Burbank, Sacramento, and in New Jersey for 16 years. I was influenced by people who modeled 1 Thessalonians 2:8, “Not only did we give you the gospel, but our lives as well.” People who loved me into the kingdom like Christ loved me, unconditionally and with grace, which I in turn gave back to those I served and ministered with.

Prior to seminary I served with the Reverend William Craig at the First Presbyterian Church of Burbank and with his encouragement to consider pastoral ministry in the PCUSA and along with others like Elder David Lessley, I finished my undergraduate education at the Azusa Pacific University and a Master of Divinity at the Princeton Theological Seminary in Princeton, New Jersey. After I graduated from Princeton Seminary in 2003, I was ordained as a minister of Word and Sacrament in the San Fernando Presbytery in May 2004 and most recently completed serving as an Associate Pastor for Youth and Families at a church in Sacramento, California in the Sacramento Presbytery.

I’ve been very blessed over the years and I can’t help but think if it weren’t for those persons in my life as a youth who loved me and gave me Jesus that I might not be where I am at today as a follower of Jesus, husband, father, and pastor. These were people who accepted me at my place of need and as one of God’s children.

I’m thrilled that I get to continue serving Christ’ church as a Presbyterian minister in the Littlerock and Antelope Valley areas and that I will be one of many who will continue the proclamation of the gospel, that Christ loves us no matter what, and has a plan for our lives. I’m also excited to know that I will continue to help in the empowerment of the sending out of God’s children not only into the world, but locally in places like Littlerock in making disciples of all nations.
