A
few dedicated Christians founded the Littlerock
Community Presbyterian Church. They first
met in homes, and then at the Alpine Elementary
School. The Church was chartered on February
20, 1931 by the Los Angeles Presbytery. When
they had grown enough and diligently saved
for property and building,

built the present sanctuary (1942), which is
now the Fellowship Hall. With different part
time pastors and internists, they continued
to grow. In 1957, they built a new Sanctuary,
where worship services are held today. |
For
over 15 years, our church was yoked with the Presbyterian
Church of Acton. All pastors and interns led worship
at Acton at 9 a.m., then at Littlerock at 11 a.m.
All this time the churches had not grown, but dwindled
down until the membership at each church was in
the teens. As soon as we both received full time
pastors, we both started to grow.
On December 20, 1987 our Church signed an agreement
to buy 5 acres of land at 87th Street East between
Avenue U and Pearblossom Hwy. The price was $55,000.
On April 18, 1988, the Deed was recorded for our
new property. We are currently planning to build
a new facility on this land.
The Reverend
Doctor Robert and Luella Frisbee served our
pastoral needs from 1985-1998. In May 1999, Rev.
Bob became Pastor Emeritus of our Church by a unanimous
vote of the Congregation.
We started a Hispanic Ministry in 1991 with Ismael
Gonzales from Santa Ana, California and Mrs. Mercedes
Cevallos. In July 1993, the San Fernando Presbytery
brought the Reverend Angel Becerra and his family
from Guatemala to expand Hispanic Ministries in
the Antelope Valley. This fellowship went on to
become an official new church development, and will
soon be building its own facility in Palmdale. They
currently meet on Sunday afternoons at 12 p.m.,
and have had great results in attendance. They also
have several Bible studies meeting in different
homes throughout the Antelope Valley.
The Reverend Doctor Krin J. Van Tatenhove was installed
as our pastor on July 29, 2001. He came to us from
Palm Springs, California.
As
of October 1, 2005, our most resent pastor, Dr.
Krin Van Tatenhove, has been called to serve another
church. We wish him and his family all the best,
and thank the Lord for his service to this church.
We are now in the processes of looking for a new
pastor.
November
19, 2006 we have accepted The
Reverend Kevin K.C. Wahe as our
new pastor.
